  Ok all with IRMA behind us all, and most of the mess that IRMA left for all of us to clean up, I finally had the time to sit down a post a review. I don’t normally provide reviews, comments, or opinions on Web or Facebook pages, but this time I thought it important. I live in South Central of Marion County Florida and have for years. We have this very old mini horse (Sunny Boy) 28 inches tall and 23 years old that was having breathing problems last Friday evening. It came out of nowhere so we were really caught off guard. He was gasping for air and honking like a goose. You could tell he was struggling for every breath, seems his trachea had collapsed. We have used Professional Equine Veterinary Services in Pedro Florida in the past, with great results, so we knew whom to call right away. Within 30 minutes, Dr. Ellis Traywick rolled on to our property and immediately started treating old Sunny Boy. She asked questions, dug for information, examined, and performed the necessary x-rays on Sunny and took quick deliberate action. Through the medications she administered and the procedures she did to Sunny boy, he was breathing easy and normal within 40 minutes after she arrived. Dr. Traywicks ability to quickly assess the situation, provide clear solutions, explaining her every move along the way, made the wife and I feel extremely at ease. The doctor has a way of making you feel like you are her only concern, that you and your animal are part of the Performance Equine family, and that she cares about her customers and the animals equally. Another time, Dr. Guillermo has come to our rescue when our mare Colicked. Again, the Vet arrived quickly and stormed in was his team, performed several procedures, and had our girl up and walking within 2 hours. I can not say enough good things about these folks. They have saved our animals and provided so much comfort to the wife and I. They really do make you feel like you are part of their family, and make sure they provide the best care possible for your animal. It’s common for the treating Veterinarian to call several times after treatment just to check the status of your animal and make sure they are OK. I really can complain about their prices either, they are very competitive and reasonable. I mean owning a bunch of big critters is expensive, but they do make it a little less painful on the wallet. In fact for the level of care, attention to detail, and rapid response…….I’d pay a bit more. But…shhhhhhhhh…….don’t tell them that!!!!
